About us
We are a group of social scientists using a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to address issues of contemporary relevance to health and wellbeing from a critical social science perspective. We are mainly based in the College of Social Sciences, but also have members in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences.

Our research
We have an established track record in a range of research areas associated with Health and Social Policy, Environment and Sustainability, Work and Employment, Disability, Food and Food Security, Life Course, Lived Experience of Health and Illness, Health Behaviours, Healthcare and Education, Social and Commercial Determinants of Health. We also have expertise in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in this area.
